In honor of the recent snow we’ve had in Raleigh, I thought it’d be fun to post some pictures of the snow at North Hills.
Do you have any pictures you’d like to share? Send any pics you may have to webmaster@northhillsbuzz.com and we’ll feature them here with a one sentence bio and link back to your website if you’d like.
Our first contributor of snow pictures is Daniel Hendley, a hobbyist photographer trying to put everything into motion to one day be able to make a living doing what he loves–taking …

Affordable North Hills

When I asked my husband what was the first word that came to mind when he heard “North Hills” his reply was “expensive”. True, North Hills has its share of boutiques and upscale dining that I would classify as special occasion kind of places, at least as far as the budget goes. But with almost 100 stores and close to 30 restaurants, North Hills can be surprisingly affordable.
As a matter of fact, when I think about the places my family frequents, I think of weekly routine rather than special occasion. …

A North Hills Olympic Experience

Lake Placid, Sarajevo, Calgary, Albertville, Lillehammer, Nagano, Salt Lake City, and Turin are all places that hosted the Winter Olympics since I was born (not to date myself or anything). And I have only been to one of them, Lake Placid. Although to be honest, I went there in 2001 and in the summer. This year I’m adding another city to my list – Vancouver, the host of 2010 Winter Olympics.
This year is different though because I have found a way to join in the fun without leaving Raleigh, …

Workshifting at North Hills

Do you workshift? Just a few weeks ago my answer would’ve been a confused “no” even though, apparently, I’ve work shifted, on and off, for the last 5 years or so.
Turns out, you might be a workshifter if you work out of coffee shops, book stores, airport lounges and hotels as much as you work from your office or your home.
Telecommuting and working from home are mostly great. Except on the days when your Internet connection is mysteriously slow, installers are busy putting kitchen cabinets in or, say, you run …

Sunday nights starting at 10pm is service industry nights at Fox and Hound. I’m told they give away “beer related” prizes at midnight and all appetizers are half price. Drink specials are $3 magic hat pints and $5 monster bombs. Bartenders and servers are a lot of fun and dress up once a month.
Anyone been to Fox and Hound for this? Would love to hear your thoughts and see some pictures.

Recap of The Tams Performance in April at the Midtown Music Series

**This is a guest post by Lee Odom. Lee recently submitted this recap of The Tams concert from late April. I think it’s a nice look at a typical Thursday night at the 2009 Midtown Music Series (Lee refers to this as the “North Hills Concert Series.” No matter what you want to call it, it’s always a good time.
