Upcoming phototour of Raleigh-based photo collective

Hello!
I’m Helena from Well Done Media, a photography/media collective based out of Raleigh.
On Monday, July 13th, we will be embarking on a cross-country phototour spanning from Raleigh to San Francisco. We’ll be documenting our adventures and experiences while on the road, as well as art, music (including meeting with the Triangle-based Bowerbirds and Megafaun on their national tours), and any other interesting people or things we encounter. North Hills $1 Billion Expansion Featured on NBC 17

Despite the tough economy, North Hills is poised for huge growth. Check out the video below for a segment from NBC-17, which dicusses the $1 billion expansion of North Hills across Six Forks Road. As we’ve mentioned before, the area will be a mixed-use development featuring retail (250,000 square feet), offices and residential living. We’re also excited about the green space they’ll have for people to enjoy relaxing and more live music and entertainment.

Vivace Chef Ian Sullivan and Coquette Brassier Chef Rob Bland, both in North Hills, will participate in the Epicurious Vino Challenge on Saturday, May 30, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Hinnant Family Vineyards in Pine Level, North Carolina, a charitable fundraiser that challenges chefs to create excellent dishes that use one of the Hinnant wines as a key ingredient.
They join fellow Urban Food Group, Inc., chefs Jeremy Sabo of Porter’s City Tavern and Jeffrey Sattler, both on Hillsborough Street, as well as a host of other chefs.

A Walk For Wishes Fashion Event – Recap

On Friday night, the “A Walk For Wishes” fashion show took place outside of The Spectacle and Vivace here at North Hills. Over 100 people came out to watch the event and hopefully donate to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which was the charity tie-in. Kitty Kinnin was the MC during the show, while male and female models walked outside in front of Vivace wearing styles from Liles Clothing Studio and Vermillion.

2009 Midtown Music Concert Series Starts Tomorrow

The 2009 Midtown Music Concert Series at North Hills kicks off tomorrow (Thursday, April 16) with a performance by The Embers. The series features outdoor beach music concerts that run every Thursday through August from 6pm to 9pm over at the Commons (area by the movie theater) at North Hills.
Sponsors of the event include WRAL.com and Johnson Lexus, among other brands. I like to think of NorthHillsBuzz.com as an unofficial sponsor, as we’ll be providing some great pictures and video from the events, and helping spread the word, just like …

Midtown Farmer’s Market Starts Saturday

The Midtown Farmer’s Market returns for its second year at North Hills on Saturday, April 11. The market, which is located over at the Commons at North Hills, features locally grown fruits and vegetables from a variety of vendors. You’ll also be able to find flowers, meats, homemade desserts, cheeses and more at the Midtown Farmer’s Market.

Park & Market: Additional Apartments at North Hills

Today, Kane Realty announced that additional apartments at North Hills will open in late 2009. Park & Market is a $125 million, 900,000 square-foot, mixed-use, retail and residential project and will be home to the two-story Harris Teeter we’ve written about previously.
Park & Market will have six levels of high-end apartments (409 total homes) above 93,000 square feet of street-level retail. Residents will enjoy direct, in-building access to the 48,000-square-foot Harris Teeter. Bus from North Hills to Downtown Raleigh?

The recent launch of new bus services in Raleigh has got me thinking about North Hills.
The free R-line, which features service features hybrid electric buses that run in a loop every 10-15 minutes downtown, officially launched last friday, February 13.
