Due to the possibility of heavy rain and high wind tomorrow (Saturday) from Tropical Storm Hannah, the Iron Chef-style cooking competition will be cancelled and rescheduled for Saturday, September 20th.
The Farmers’ Market will also be cancelled for Saturday to give the market vendors time to secure their farms and prepare for the storm.
Tonight’s (Friday) music will also be cancelled. According to the weather center, we are supposed to see rain and wind starting tonight at 5pm. While this is not certain, the event organizer’s main concern is that the stage is uncovered and covering it with a tent could still be dangerous if wind suddenly picks up (sand bags are only approved up to 10mph winds). It would be tough to move the stage and artist’s equipment quickly if a storm came through. Hopefully, Erik Smallwood will be able to play his music at a later date at North Hills.
I hope everyone has a safe weekend.
