Parking Lot at The Lassiter

June 15 2008 4 Comments

Here’s a picture of the space where The Lassiter at North Hills will be built (construction has not started yet and I’m not sure when it will). The Lassiter will house 49 premium condominiums ranging from $490,000 to $2.5 million. For a few months now, the area has basically turned into a parking lot for construction workers in the area. On Friday, I counted 56 cars there. Yes, I know this is breaking news…

Also FYI – the upscale home furniture store Porto has closed. The owners cite the poor economy as a major factor in deciding to close the stores (there was one at North Hills and one at Eastgate in Chapel Hill).

How has the economy affected your financial decisions?

It sounds like development is slowing down – maybe they are holding back due to the tightened economi?

I really do hope they hold off on this project, just to keep from oversaturating the area (but mostly to avoid construction noise outside my window).

I do have to say that from view, about 2 weeks ago there appeared a crew of construction admin walking around the dirt lot. They might have been gathering there before traveling to whatever other site they were working on…but still made me a little worried.

Why are there so many cars parked in that dirt lot? they spent so much money building extravang parking lots and parking decks lol

Why do construction workers start so early in the morning? They’ve been waking me up at 6 with loud Spanish music from their cars every morning since this became the parking lot…not fair!
