Renaissance Hotel Opening Delayed

December 17 2008 4 Comments

It looks like we’ll have to wait a little longer for the 229-room Renaissance Hotel at North Hills to be finished. Originally scheduled to open in December, it likely will be opening sometime in January now.

I called them a few days ago to see if there would be a room available for my grandparents, who are coming into town for Christmas next week. It was a little strange that the lady on the phone couldn’t tell me if the hotel was open or not without me giving her the dates they’d be staying there. She ultimately told me the hotel wouldn’t be open in December, but it would start accepting reservations on the 26th. But she couldn’t tell me when the exact opening would be in January.

Has anyone else heard when the Renaissance Hotel will definitely open? Will you recommend that your friends and family from out of town stay there when it opens?

Opened on December 26th, stayed there last night. Not all floors are open yet but at least the 8th floor and the restaurant and bar are open.

Wow, just called hotel direct to check for their lowest rate for 2nite 2/22-Monday or tomorrow nite, and lady sent me to Marriott reservations generic call center. I had already done this before hand and looked rates on trip advisor for best rate online. I recalled her and asked for a locale rate and she refused to give me anything. said I’d have to call reserv center only. but all rates were same (online, travel sites and reserv center) $ 209.00 and up. Since it was a weekday w/no events and the economy poorish, I thought I could get better help/advice/rate…Sorry I disturbed her! I was looking for a romantic getaway for me-hubby and wanted tyo do spas, dining and overnight stay. I live 45 minutes away but will stay somewhere else.
