Here’s a picture of the space where The Lassiter at North Hills will be built (construction has not started yet and I’m not sure when it will). The Lassiter will house 49 premium condominiums ranging from $490,000 to $2.5 million. For a few months now, the area has basically turned into a parking lot for construction workers in the area. WRAL recently published an article on their website that talks about how Raleigh’s growth has been hurt by the mortgage and credit crisis. While Raleigh hasn’t been hit nearly as hard as other places, lenders are still being less willing to give money to projects, even ones they had previously committed to.
The article mentions that there is a construction delay for the Lafayette Hotel in downtown Raleigh as well as “for a major condo project at North Hill.”
