Strides of Fashion – A Red Carpet Event

Strides of Fashion is a red carpet event at North Hills that will take place Thursday, October 1st outside Vivace and The Spectacle. There will be a runway walk from 6:00-6:30pm and models will be wearing couture fashions from Scout & Molly’s and Vermillion. The Spectacle will provide some great eyewear and makeup and hair will be done by Luxe Apothecary and Von Kekel.

Proceeds and donations from the Strides of Fashion event will benefit The American Cancer Society and Breast Cancer Research.

After the runway walk, Ed Stephenson will be playing live music from 6:30-9:00pm.

You can reserve a table outside Vivace by calling 787-7747 or you can just show up and hope to find a seat at the bar outside.

Two of North Hills’ Finest Chefs Accept The Epicurious Vino Challenge

Vivace Chef Ian Sullivan and Coquette Brassier Chef Rob Bland, both in North Hills, will participate in the Epicurious Vino Challenge on Saturday, May 30, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Hinnant Family Vineyards in Pine Level, North Carolina, a charitable fundraiser that challenges chefs to create excellent dishes that use one of the Hinnant wines as a key ingredient.

They join fellow Urban Food Group, Inc., chefs Jeremy Sabo of Porter’s City Tavern and Jeffrey Sattler, both on Hillsborough Street, as well as a host of other chefs.

All proceeds will go to help adults and children with disabilities through RHA Howell Care Centers.

The chefs drew the name of a wine from a hat and will create a dish using the wine each one drew. US Foodservice’s executive chefs Bob Passerelli and Mark Turner will serve as judges to determine which chef created the best dish. Two awards will be presented: the Judges’ H&H grand prize and the People’s Choice award, which will be determined by a vote from attendees at the event.

US Foodservice, the Grand Benefactor for the Epicurious Vino Challenge, is a collection of foodservice distributors employing over 600 at the Raleigh division and servicing Eastern North Carolina since 1971. For more information visit www.usfoodservice.com.

A Walk For Wishes Fashion Event – Recap

On Friday night, the “A Walk For Wishes” fashion show took place outside of The Spectacle and Vivace here at North Hills. Over 100 people came out to watch the event and hopefully donate to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which was the charity tie-in. Kitty Kinnin was the MC during the show, while male and female models walked outside in front of Vivace wearing styles from Liles Clothing Studio and Vermillion.

After the show, Chalon Carter gave a very moving speech about how the Make-A-Wish Foundation positively impacted her life when she was sick as a teenager. She told the story of how she was able to visit Hawaii because of the Foundation and what that trip meant to her.

Overall, it was a great event for a great cause.

A Walk for Wishes Fashion Show Tonight

Tonight “A Walk for Wishes” fashion show will take place outside of Vivace. This open-air, red carpet event is being presented by The Spectacle and Vivace and proceeds from the event go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Models will be featuring clothing and styles from Liles Clothing Studio and Vermillion.

The runway walk will take place from 6:00-6:30pm and music from BC3 will run from 6:30-9:00pm. This should be a cool event and I’m going to try to make it out there for a few minutes tonight. Hope to see you there!

Vivace to Serve Drinks at the Alexan Pool?

I heard a rumor that Vivace will be serving drinks and food at the pool at the North Hills Alexan apartments on the weekends this summer. I think this is a great idea. People will definitely shell out some money to have good food/drinks delivered to them. Can anyone confirm or deny this story?

If Vivace does start serving drinks/food, will you take advantage of it?

South and Vivace Participating in Triangle Restaurant Week

Triangle Restaurant Week is next week (May 12-18). The goal of the week is to highlight some excellent local cuisine and encourage people to explore new restaurants and dishes in Raleigh. The best thing about it is that you get an appetizer, main course and desert for one price ($15 for lunch, $25 for dinner). You don’t need any coupons; all you have to do is show up to one of the participating restaurants.
